The Town of Ponoka is gearing up for one of their more exciting days of the summer.

For the third year in a row, Ponoka Day in the Park is being held at Centennial Park tomorrow where residents will get to enjoy a day full of activities including family feud trivia, a free BBQ and a Saskatoon pie baking contest.

Something Director of Community Services for the Town of Ponoka Wes Adment is really looking forward too is the live entertainment.

“We have children entertainer, her name is Mary Lambert. She’s a Juno Award nominee and a well-respected children entertainer. So she’ll be on the stage in the park at 7 p.m.”

Adment said it’s something the town continues to be excited about, and understands the importance of volunteers.

“Again, it’s another one of our events where we rely on community volunteers to help us put it together. There are different organizations like the Ponoka Library, we have the Ponoka Home Church, and they have different activities such as face painting.”

The first event starts at 2 o’clock with games in the park. As for the night, Finding Nemo will be shown at about 8:30, followed by fireworks in the river valley starting at about 10:30.
