Paula Law has been re-elected as Reeve for Lacombe County for the sixth term in a row.

Council nominated her and since there were no other nominees she took the spot once again. She says she is thankful to have such hardworking peers.

“It’s not really a personal goal we just have a good group of councillors that I get to work with each and every day and each one of them have such a big passion for the county so it makes it so much easier.”

But of course when the work is done she considers them more than just coworkers.

“It’s one of those things where you can disagree at the table and that’s perfectly fine but once you walk away everyone has such great rapport with each other.”

Terms for Reeve last one year and she says these last five years have not only been busy but also productive, adding that lots of the upcoming projects will take around 2.5 years to complete.

No changes were made to the Deputy Reeve position, which is a two-year term. It is currently held by Division 5 Councillor Ken Wigmore, who was elected to that role during the 2017 Organizational Meeting.
