Recent arrests of note by Red Deer RCMP include a number of property crime arrests; many of those arrested were found to be breaching court-imposed conditions and/ or were wanted on warrants.

November 15 – 20171550109

Shortly before 12:30 pm on November 15, RCMP responded to a report of activity in a vacant apartment in the Pines neighbourhood. RCMP attended and located two suspects in the apartment. One suspect actively resisted arrest but was taken into custody without injury to himself or to police officers; the second suspect was arrested without incident for outstanding warrants.

47 year old Trevor James Larmondin faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Code 129(a) – Resist/ obstruct peace officer
  • Criminal Code 145(5.1) – Fail to comply with conditions

Larmondin is scheduled to appear in court in Red Deer on November 24 at 9:30 am.

25 year old Jessy Langlois was remanded on his outstanding warrants and will appear in court in Red Deer on November 17 at 9:30 am.

 

November 15 – 20171548312

Shortly before 6 am on November 15, Red Deer RCMP were assisted by Blackfalds RCMP in locating a stolen Cadillac as it drove into Red Deer. Red Deer RCMP located the car in the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood, where it was disabled remotely by Onstar. The driver attempted to flee the car but was taken into custody. The car had been reported stolen out of Ponoka.

23 year old Johnny Howard MacDonald was wanted on a number of outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest. He now faces the following additional charges:

  • Criminal Code 348(1)(b) – Break and enter
  • Criminal Code 129(a) – Resist/ obstruct peace officer
  • Criminal Code 145(3) – Fail to comply with conditions X 4
  • Criminal Code 733.1(1) – Fail to comply with probation

MacDonald was remanded for court in Red Deer on November 21 at 9:30 am.

November 13 – 20171543089

At 11 pm on November 13, RCMP responded to a report of suspicious activity at a rented garage in the Johnstone neighbourhood. On arrival, RCMP located a stolen boat in the garage, and arrested the suspect who was renting the garage out. The suspect was wanted on outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.

32 year old Ryan Malcolm Leary faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Code 355(a) – Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Criminal Code 355(b) – Possession of stolen property under $5,000

Leary was scheduled to appear in court in Red Deer on November 17 at 9:30 am.

 

November 13 – 20171543285/ 20171501818

At 10 pm on November 13, RCMP located a suspect who was wanted on warrants for a personal robbery that had occurred on November 4, in which the victim had his wallet stolen and received a serious but non-life-threatening stab wound to his face. At the time of his arrest, the suspect gave police a false name and was in possession of GHB and a knife.

34 year old Shawn Ryan Cooper faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Code 268 – Aggravated assault
  • Criminal Code 344(1)(b) – Robbery with weapon
  • Criminal Code 423(1)(a) – Intimidation
  • Criminal Code 129(a) – Resist/ obstruct peace officer
  • CDSA 4(1) – Possession of Schedule I substance

Cooper was remanded to appear in court in Red Deer on November 28 at 9:30 am.

November 13 – 20171541695

At 3 pm on November 13, RCMP responded to a report in the Riverside Industrial area after two citizens intercepted a suspect in a vehicle they believed he was attempting to steal. Police Dog Services attended and located the suspect nearby in the park system.

41 year old Christopher Lyle Hannah faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Code 333.1 – Theft of car
  • Criminal Code 334(b) – Theft under $5,000
  • Criminal Code 351(1) -  Possess break-in instruments

Hannah was scheduled to make his first appearance in court in Red Deer on November 17.

November 12 – 20171538802

At 7 pm on November 12, RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the Clearview neighbourhood. Police officers located a suspect in a parked stolen truck, and took him into custody without incident. The truck had been reported stolen out of Sylvan Lake, and the license plate had been reported stolen out of Blackfalds.

33 year old Kevin Leo Gallagher faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Code 355(a) – Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Criminal Code 355(b) – Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Criminal Code 253(1)(a) – Impaired care or control by a drug of vessel
  • Criminal Code 259(4) – Driving while disqualified
  • Criminal Code 92(2) – Possession of prohibited weapon while knowing possession is unauthorized X 2
  • TSA 52(1)(a) – Drive without registration
  • TSA 54(1)(a) – Drive without insurance

Gallagher is scheduled to appear in court in Red Deer on November 20 at 9:30 am.

 

November 11 – 20171535726

At 10 pm on November 11, RCMP located a suspect in a stolen truck in the Rosedale neighbourhood. She was found to be in possession of stolen keys to a number of vehicles and was wanted on several outstanding warrants out of Edmonton.

24 year old Jesse Ann Schiach faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Code 355(a) – Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Criminal Code 355(b) – Possession of stolen property under $5,000 X 4

Schiach is scheduled to appear in court in Red Deer on December 6 at 9:30 am.

November 8 – 20171522220

At 10 pm on November 8, RCMP Police Dog Services located a stolen Ford F-150 parked under the 67 Street bridge on a walking trail in the area of 45 Avenue; police had been searching for the truck after receiving a number of complaints that the truck was driving erratically. The truck rammed the police car several times before the police officer was able to arrest the driver; the police officer was not injured during the collisions. The truck, which had a quad in the back, had been reported stolen out of the Blackfalds area on November 7. The quad had been reported stolen as part of a separate truck theft out of Leduc area on November 7.

21 year old Christopher Wickins-Pearse was wanted on several outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest for break and enter, possession of break and enter tools and failing to appear in court. He now faces the following additional charges:

  • Criminal Code 270.01(a) – Assault with a weapon on police
  • Criminal Code 355(a) – Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Criminal Code 355(b) – Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • TSA 94(2) – Unauthorized operation of motor vehicle

Wickins-Pearse made his first appearance in court in Red Deer on November 10 and is scheduled to appear again on November 28 at 9:30 am.

 

November 8 – 20171520442

Shortly after 1:30 pm, RCMP located a suspicious vehicle parked in downtown Red Deer and observed that the male in the driver’s seat was in possession of a flare gun; police officers were aware that the suspect was on court-imposed conditions not to be in possession of anything that could be used as a weapon. The suspect refused to unlock or exit the vehicle, and RCMP contained the area, laid a tire deflation device to prevent potential flight from police through a residential neighbourhood, and removed the suspect from the vehicle without injury to himself or to police officers. RCMP seized the flare gun and bear spray from the car during the arrest.

32 year old Jessie Singh Dodd faces the following criminal charges:

  • Criminal Code 129(a) – Resist/ obstruct peace officer
  • Criminal Code 733.1(1) – Fail to comply with probation X 2

Dodd made his first appearance in court in Red Deer on November 16 and is scheduled to appear again on December 13 at 9:30 am.

November 7 – 20171517910

At 11:30 pm on November 7, RCMP responded to a suspicious vehicle in the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood after a truck reportedly drove onto a residential lawn and came to a stop. RCMP located a man in the driver’s seat who was found to be violating a number of court-imposed conditions. The truck had been reported stolen out of the Blackfalds area on November 6. RCMP continue to investigate.

20 year old Thomas Jeffrey Houle faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Code 355(a) – Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Criminal Code 145(3) – Fail to comply with conditions X 8

Houle made his first appearance in court in Red Deer on November 16 and is scheduled to appear again on December 7 at 9:30 am.
