Red Deer RCMP have arrested the man believed responsible for the carjacking of a taxi on November 17.

Shortly before 1 pm on November 21, RCMP received a report that the suspect in the November 17 armed robbery of a taxi driver and subsequent vehicle theft was in a gas station on Ross Street.

RCMP officers attended the location immediately and arrested the suspect without incident.

19 year old Anthony Csordas of Red Deer faces the following charges:
· Criminal Code 344(1)(b) – Robbery while armed with offensive weapon
· Criminal Code 88(1) – Possession of weapon for purpose of committing an offence

Csordas will appear in court in Red Deer on December 20 at 9:30 am.

 


 

Red Deer RCMP are looking for public assistance to identify the male responsible for an armed robbery (carjacking) that occurred the evening of November 17.

At approximately 4:45 pm on November 17, a male requested a taxi from the Mac’s store at 3801 50 Street. Once inside the taxi, the male threatened the driver with a knife and asked for money.

The driver pulled into the parking lot of the Fas Gas at 4023 50 Street and got out of the car without injury.

The suspect drove away in the taxi and then abandoned it; RCMP recovered the taxi nearby shortly afterwards.

The suspect is described as:
· Caucasian male
· Approximately 15-16 years old
· 5’10” to 6’0” tall
· Short, shaved brown hair
· Red marks on his face
· Wearing a red, black and blue hoodie with the word “Fox” in black and white block letters on the front
