From the Red Deer RCMP 

Today at approximately 11:45 a.m., Red Deer RCMP provided assistance to Red Deer Emergency Services and City of Red Deer bylaw inspectors at 4614 Ross Street.   

Red Deer Emergency Services and bylaw inspectors were conducting a house inspection after neighbours reported a strong smell of diesel and fuel. Upon arrival, Red Deer Emergency Services called for assistance from the RCMP.  

As a safety precaution, RCMP cleared the residence while bylaw inspectors and Red Deer Emergency Services conducted their inspection. Upon inspection, gasoline and diesel stored in a variety of non-compliant containers and tanks were found.  

Red Deer Emergency Services remains on scene to work with the property owner to ensure appropriate clean up of the property and disposal of the material.
