A male is facing Criminal Code charges after Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded to a suspicious vehicle during off highway vehicle (OHV) patrols during May long weekend.

On May 20, 2018 at approximately 12:15 pm, police responded to a suspicious vehicle on a lease road. Rocky Mountain House RCMP along with the assistance of Conservation Officers discovered open liquor in the vehicle. Police searched the vehicle under the Gaming and Liquor Act and located approximately 3 grams of Cocaine.

Lucas Denny, a 23-year-old male from Red Deer, was charged with possession of a controlled substance under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) and found to be breaching parole conditions.

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Rocky Mountain House Provincial Court on May 30, 2018.

The Rocky Mountain House RCMP and partners worked collaboratively during the long weekend to reduce crime in the Rocky Mountain House area. Crime reduction initiatives were in place, which is believed to have decreased the calls for service and response time.
