RDC is currently in the midst of its normal budget planning process in preparation for the 2021/2022 academic year.

With the added context provided by the Government of Alberta in the provincial budget that was tabled on Thursday, February 25, RDC will use this information in its decision-making for the institution’s upcoming budget.

Dr. Peter Nunoda, RDC President, is pleased to share the following statement: “In yesterday’s provincial budget announcement, RDC learned that we will continue to experience a decrease in our institution’s Campus Alberta operating grant. This will present a challenge as we plan for the College’s upcoming academic year. However, in preparing a balanced budget for RDC’s 2021/2022 academic year, RDC’s faculty and staff remain focused on continuing to provide high-quality applied learning experiences and services that our students and community members have come to expect."

"We recognize that RDC’s budget must reflect the current economic conditions in which we find ourselves, while demonstrating creativity and innovation as we seek new sources of revenue to ensure our future sustainability as an organization. RDC is proud of the important role we play in our community. We provide our students with robust training that allows them to graduate and contribute their expertise to drive Alberta’s diverse economy as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and beyond.”

RDC’s budget planning for its 2021/2022 academic year will continue in the coming weeks and months. Decisions will be shared with the College community and other stakeholders once they are made.
