UPDATE from Red Deer RCMP: As of 9:00am, Thursday January 25th, 2018, Red Deer RCMP have located the owner of a WWII era German army document that was recovered on December 13 during an arrest, and thank the media and the public for their assistance.

Red Deer RCMP are looking for the owner of a WWII era German army passport that police recovered on December 13 during an arrest involving stolen property.

The document bears a photograph and the name “Franz Laue” and RCMP believe it may be of sentimental or historical significance to its owner.

Red Deer RCMP have contacted various families of that last name but have not been able to identify the document’s owner.

If you believe you are the owner of the pictured document, please contact Red Deer RCMP Exhibits staff at 403-406-2574 from Monday to Thursday between 8 am and 6 pm and Friday between 8 am and 3:30 pm. You will be asked to provide description details not pictured here or other information to prove ownership.
