From Red Deer RCMP:

On Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, Red Deer RCMP, The City of Red Deer, Alberta Health Services, and Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) responded in a coordinated effort to a nuisance property in Eastview.

The property was non-compliant with the National Fire Code, Community Standards Bylaw and was the subject of numerous property crime complaints and other suspected criminal activity. While the response was underway, one individual was arrested on warrant and another arrested for violating conditions of parole.

“Nuisance properties are often connected to criminal activity and by working together with other agencies, we are collectively improving community safety while using enforcement tools that extend beyond the Criminal Code,” said Sergeant Paul Glanville.

“The coordinated approach to this particular property was a result of reports and complaints made by the public and we ask that the public continue to report suspicious activity, unusual behaviour and nuisance properties.”
