The Pregnancy Care Centre held their largest fundraiser of the year Thursday night at Red Deer’s Sheraton Hotel.

This is their biggest fundraiser every year and Executive Director Anne Waddell says they raised $91,000 at the event.

The evening included dinner, a silent auction and a fashion show, then ended with a presentation from those who have been helped by the clinic in the past.

Waddell says although it is a fundraiser, it is also a chance to invite their partners and supporters out for a night to celebrate their hard work.

“They’re resources that’d be volunteering or whether that is financially, they are all leaving a bit of a legacy in bringing healing and supporting these young moms and their families.”

She also says that there are people who don’t fully utilize the programs and services that they offer at the centre.

“We do more than unplanned pregnancies as well, we do a series of programs steps for sexual health and sexual abuse, we do post abortions recovery for women that are experiencing past abortion we do male mentorship for young men as well, so we do more than just pregnancy tests.”

They have another banquet fundraiser coming up in the spring of 2019.
