The Ponoka RCMP investigated a civilian report of a suspicious vehicle seen driving around the Lacombe County around 9:15 PM on October 10th.

The civilian who spotted the truck followed it until the suspect attempted to ram them with their vehicle. At 10:15 PM, the suspect vehicle was spotted at the Morningside Community Hall by RCMP.

The truck was determined to be previously stolen and inside the vehicle, there was a male sleeping who was arrested without incident.

RCMP seized a large tool box that contained several pry bars, crow bars, drills and grinders typically used for break-ins. Officers also seized a crossbow.

Bryan Lawrence Moffitt was previously wanted and was subject to four different orders prohibiting him from being in possession of a crossbow.

Moffitt was charged with the following:

  • Possession of stolen property
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Dangerous driving

He is scheduled to attend the Provincial Court of Alberta in Ponoka on October 30th, 2020.
