There are still some spots open for volunteers with the City of Red Deer's Point in Time homeless count, to take place Wednesday night (April 11th).

Acting social planning manager Tricia Hercina says the numbers and data are factored into programs and services.

“Some of the types of information that is collected is things like if they are with family, what their immigration status is, what their Aboriginal status is, if they have a source of income, how long they’ve been homeless,” Hercina says.

Volunteers must be 18 years old, and will be paired up and trained during the count.

The count and survey is from 9-11 p.m.
