With road blocks and detours set up today downtown ahead of the Hometown Hockey weekend in Lacombe, you'll want to plan ahead for parking both leading up to and during the festival.

Economic Development Manager with the City of Lacombe, Guy Lapointe reminds you to keep in mind all of the public lots downtown.

“The LMC, there’s two lots adjacent to the Blacksmith Shop, there’s space next to Kavaccino’s over by Michener House and then there’s two lots south of the flatiron building that are accessible as well and then there’s a new parking lot over by the fire hall”.

For the weekend itself, Lapointe says the city has also reached out to secure parking at a number of private lots.

“People can access the Dolman lot, the Dolman Dental lot, they can access the post office, the Alberta Agriculture building downtown, their lot is going to be available and it’s actually quite big it’s got about 65 spots, over by ATB there’s some room there too, and it’s only a 2 block walk but the schools have given us permission to use their lots as well”.
