A truck box full of food and over $200 was raised for the Lacombe Food Bank, thanks to some local Halloween enthusiasts.

Chad Carlson and his family, creators of Carlson Manor Haunted House, collected money and food from Oct. 28, up until Halloween night.

Carlson said he can’t say enough about the community and the support it received.

“To see all these people come out and enjoy the season and contribute to the food bank, especially this close to Christmas, is, again, amazing.”

In its second year, the haunted house attracted about 750 visitors.

Carlson said along with everyone who stopped by, he’s extremely grateful to his patient neighbours.

“We went around ahead of time and brought cookies to the neighbours as a ‘sorry for the chaos that was about to happen.’ We had nothing, but positive feedback from the neighbours. Their contributions and their involvement, has been amazing.

Carlson would also like to give thanks to all the volunteers who made it possible and is looking forward to doing it again next year.
