From Olds RCMP:

On April 16, 2019, Olds RCMP received a complaint of identity theft. 

The victim reported that someone had used his personal information to apply for car loans, credit cards and phone plans. 

It was determined that a vehicle had also been fraudulently purchased using the victim's identification. 

The investigation led the RCMP to suspect an Olds resident and, on April 26, a search warrant was executed at a local hotel where the suspect resided. 

The search warrant resulted in the seizure of several items related to identification theft, fraud and counterfeiting. 

Two subjects have since been charged in relation to the investigation. 

Morgan Stephen Winter (age 45) of Olds, Alberta, has been charged with three counts of Using a Forged Document, two counts of Identity Theft, two counts of Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime of a value over $5000, two counts of Trafficking of Property Obtained by Crime of a value under $5000 and one count of Fraud of a value over $5000. 

A warrant has been issued for Winter's arrest. 

Starr Audrey Bowman (age 31) of Olds, Alberta, has been charged with one count of Identity Theft and two counts of Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime of a value over $5000. 

Bowman is scheduled to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on May 27, 2019.
