Myles Chykerda is originally from Central Alberta. He is a trained archaeologist that has done work in the United States and overseas, and now he is looking to plant his roots as the Alberta Party candidate for Lacombe-Ponoka.

The Alberta Party is small but mighty, and takes an approach that Chykerda describes as responsible. He defines this by explaining that the views that they have are smart and make sense to the province as a whole.

He says the things he is personally frustrated with are what fuel him to try and make a change.

“I certainly see a lot of frustration with the carbon tax, with rural crime; how seeing as a lot of the focus is on the cities instead of the rural areas and smaller communities, the lack of work done in the Red Deer hospital.”

He says although the party may not attract as much attention as opposed to the other parties he is confident that he can get the word out more with his campaign.

“We’ve always been the voice of reason always trying to put together a real down to earth, practical, logical argument and those ideas don’t get a lot of press coverage because those ideas aren’t exciting.”

Chykerda says he will be out in the community lots over the next few months and is always welcoming questions or conversations about politics.

He can be contacted on his website for more information on his campaign.
