Get ready for another summer of live music in Lacombe, every Wednesday from June 6 to the end of August, as Music in the Park returns to the Echo Stage in front of the Lacombe Memorial Centre.

Performances start at 6:30 p.m.

The organizing committee's Ellen Corea says the lineup is a mix of new performers and old favourites.

“We’re getting upwards to 400 people and over every Wednesday. So we want to make sure it’s high-energy and they have good sound,” Corea says.

We like to have a mixture of the types of music we present. So we have bluegrass, rock folk, country music and dixie.”

The Flatiron Jazz band is the first act on the schedule.

Corea added she’s also looking forward to Week 2, when Kim Denis, who grew up in Lacombe, is scheduled to perform.

“She’s bringing down her choirs from Edmonton to sing for us. It’s quite different for us but I think it’s going to be a wonderful concert,” she says.

In addition to the live music, the Community Market will also be running close by, with vendors and food trucks.
