It wasn’t the way some residents in Lacombe wanted to wake up this morning to find out that the tires on their vehicles had been slashed.

Police say so far they’ve received 14 complaints of damaged vehicles within the area of 49 Avenue and 52 Street, which took place sometime between 10pm and 6am.

One of the victims Matt Rye said it wasn’t the way he wanted to start his day.

“I woke up and the police were already here.”

“My neighbour Rob upstairs flagged my sister down and told me to come out. I went and talked to the police and saw that my tires were slashed as well as a few others on the street.”

Sgt. Bryan Zens said situations like these are not that common.

“It's kind of unusual to have this many complaints. We’re hoping to identify someone who’s responsible.”

Zens added if anyone has any information or their vehicle was missed, they are asked to call Lacombe Police Services.

Police are continuing to investigate.
