Charges have now been sworn against the 22 year old Red Deer woman involved in a September 21 search warrant that resulted in RCMP charging Travis James Kastrukoff with 42 criminal charges; police seized stolen firearms, stolen property and drugs while executing that warrant.

22 year old Megan Leigh Sanderson faces the following charges:

· CDSA 5(2) – Possession of controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking X 2

· Criminal Code 355(a) – Possession of stolen property over $5,000

Sanderson will appear in court in Red Deer on November 3 at 9:30 am.

A Red Deer man faces 42 Criminal Code charges after an RCMP search warrant at his residence on September 21 yielded stolen firearms and other stolen property as well as drugs.

Red Deer RCMP began their investigation after a break-in at the south Canadian Tire on September 15.

The suspect stole a number of firearms and hunting supplies and then made his escape by stealing a company truck loaded with store merchandise.

RCMP recovered the abandoned truck, still containing its cargo, the next day.

The subsequent investigation by the RCMP Community Response Unit and GIS Property Crimes Unit lead police to execute a search warrant on a residence on Orr Drive in the early morning of September 21.

Police recovered 4 firearms, 10 GPS units, ammunition and firearms magazines, and various items of hunting equipment; RCMP also seized cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

A Red Deer man and a Red Deer woman were arrested without incident in conjunction with the investigation.

28 year old Travis James Kastrukoff faces the following charges:
· CDSA 5(2) – Possession of controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking X 2
· Criminal Code 86(1) – Careless use of firearm X 4
· Criminal Code 91(2) – Unauthorized possession of prohibited weapon
· Criminal Code 92(1) – Possession of prohibited firearm while knowing possession is unauthorized X 4
· Criminal Code 95(1) – Possession of prohibited firearm with readily accessible ammunition
· Criminal Code 96 – Possession of stolen weapon X 2
· Criminal Code 108(1)(a) – Alter/ remove serial number on weapon
· Criminal Code 117.01(1) – Possession of firearm contrary to court order X 6
· Criminal Code 355(b) – Possession of stolen property under $5,000 X 21
Kastrukoff will appear in Alberta Provincial Court in Red Deer on October 7 at 9:30 am.

A 22 year old Red Deer woman also faces several charges for possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Her name cannot be released at this time as those charges have not yet been sworn before the courts.
