For those Lacombe residents who may have missed out on the spring cleanup last week, or for anyone who may still have a large pile of branches in their yard caused by the wind storm last week, the City of Lacombe has a few options for you.

For anyone who still has items out on their front lawn with the hopes that city trucks will come by and grab it, unfortunately you are out of luck.

Once the City does the sweep of your neighbourhood, they move on to the next one.

If that's the case, you have a few options. One being, you haul the load yourself down to the Prentiss Transfer Station.

The transfer station is located east of the city on highway 12, and south a few kilometres on Prentiss road.

The City asks that you do not use the small green solid waste bins located around town for large branches.

Devon Kumar, Communications Coordinator with the City of Lacombe explains what they should be used for.

"These are for grass clippings, leaves and garden waste only. We ask residents not to use those bins for trees or tranches. Instead take them to the Wolf Creek Recycling Depot, if you have a truck load or smaller."

If you are unable to get those items to the depot or waste transfer site, you can also wait until the fall clean up comes around, on the first Tuesday after the Thanksgiving weekend in October.
