From the Wetaskiwin RCMP:

On February 28, 2020 at approximately 1:40 p.m. Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a report of shots fired near Queen Elizabeth School in Wetaskiwin.  

Members arrived on scene and located a male suspect near the school.  Witnesses on scene identified the male as the shooter.  

Members learned that prior to the shooting the suspect had got into a physical altercation with another male, who he then robbed and fired a shot toward that male when he tried to leave.  

The male suspect then went inside a residence and pointed the gun at a female, assaulted and choked her.  The male victim was not injured. The female victim had minor injuries.

One semi-automatic rifle SKS was located inside the residence. 

Bryant Dreylan Threefingers (23) of Maskwacis was arrested and has been charged with the following: 

·       Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence (x2)

·       Careless Use of a Firearm

·       Discharge Firearm with intent

·       Pointing a Firearm (x2)

·       Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

·       Possession of a Firearm contrary to Prohibition order (x2)

·       Resisting a Peace Officer

·       Assault on a Police Officer

·       Robbery with a Firearm

·       Overcoming Resistance to the Commission of an indictable offence

·       Assault

Bryatt THREEFINGER was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded and is scheduled to appear in Wetaskiwin court on March 24, 2020.
