On September 2nd, 2017, Members of the Lacombe Police Service in conjunction with the Alberta Sheriffs conducted roadside check stops at various locations in Lacombe as part of the Enhanced Alberta Check Stop Program.

During this 10 hour period, a total of 1450 vehicles were stopped and checked.

The results are as follows:

  • One (1) driver was charged with Impaired Driving
  • One (1) person was charged with an offence under the Controlled Drugs andSubstances Act
  • One (1) vehicle was seized as per the Alberta Immediate Roadside Sanctions
  • Four (4) offences were identified under the Gaming and Liquor Act.
  • Twenty eight (28) violation tickets / written warnings were also issued.

The Enhanced Alberta Check stop Program is a joint force operation between the Alberta Government and Alberta Police Services with funding from the province.

During these check stops Police Officers are specifically dedicated to removing impaired drivers from Alberta roads.
