If you need to visit the Lacombe Police Station, take note, as of today they are located in their new building on Wolf Creek Drive.

As they make the switch over both their old and new location will be open today, with some minor disruptions to administrative services.

Acting Police Chief Lorne Blumhagen says their Members have been looking forward to a lot of new improvements that come with their new space “some of the work areas are definitely much bigger, we will have room to work, we will be upgrading a number of our computer systems throughout the building.  Our security features throughout the building are far superior to what we currently have.  Our cell block within the building is to standard, a safer environment for our clients and our members, definitely more functional”.

Blumhagen says they will also have a meeting room the community can access, an Emergency Operations Centre, and a more secure area for exhibit management and handling.

The new location will help Lacombe Police provide better overall service delivery, with one of the first orders of business getting local dispatch back up and running according to Blumhagen “all 911 calls for Police in Lacombe will come directly to us and will be dispatched from our office.  We are hoping that will be in place in the middle of November and we will have 24 hour dispatch staff working within the new facility”.

Blumhagen says the new Police Station will also have a meeting room the community can access, an Emergency Operations Centre, and a more secure area for exhibit management and handling.
