For the next few weeks you'll be able to help support the Lacombe Food Bank, and get a spectacular view of Lacombe in return.

Pilots, and plane owners with the Lacombe Flying Club are holding their Twinkle Tours for the second straight year, and for a $50 dollar donation to the food bank, you'll get a nighttime sight seeing ride.

Club member Jon From says many people who have already booked a ride are turning it into date night "now that we have some snow cover on the ground the lights really reflect off the snow, you would be amazed how much you can see at night, it's not unusual to be able to see 25-30 miles in the distance on a nice clear night.  The lights on the ground coupled with the star light and the moon just makes for kind of a magical experience".

From says three people can take the rides that last about half an hour, and they make a great christmas gift.

The club wanted to find a way they could give back to their community "we decided by giving rides to people in our airplanes and at night might be a fun thing that people haven't done before, and we chose to support the Lacombe Community Food Bank because it serves the whole community and has seen a steady increase in need for its services due to the recent downturn in the local economy".

Walk ins are welcome at the Lacombe Airport Terminal, the Flying Club is also taking bookings by calling 403-896-7175.
