Locals rejoice, as today marks the first of many Community Markets here in Lacombe down by the LMC, on 52nd Street.

The Lacombe Community Market runs every Wednesday from 4:30pm until 8:30pm until October.

They feature local and out of town vendors, as well as a large number of food trucks, and plenty of activities and entertainment for the kids.

Last year they averaged 25 vendors per market, not including the food trucks.

Music in the park will also be back, this year on the brand new Echo Stage, with a number of different acts each week starting at 6:30.

Wendy Buyar is the Market Manager for the Lacombe Community Market, and she says there will be some new vendors this year, as well as some favourites.

She's particularly excited about some of the food trucks making an appearance.

"We've got mini donuts, we got a group that's called Pop A Lot Kettle Corn, and they also make lemonade. They make lemonade in the coolest way possible, they take these lemons, they slice them in half, they place them in this machine that actually compresses the juices out of the lemons, as well as the oils, and it's honestly the best lemonade I’ve ever had in my life".

Due to main street construction, the last few markets will take place in the parking lot of the LMC.

That change isn't scheduled to happen until later this summer.
