There are definitely a number of homes in Lacombe that channeled their inner Clark Griswold to put together some impressive Christmas lights displays.

Once again as part of Light Up the Night festivities there was a Community Lights and Display contest, this year with 16 entries.

The Geddes family at 28 Iron Wolf Boulevard were presented with the top prize for receiving the most online votes.

Guy Lapointe with the City of Lacombe explains some of the magic alive in their display "there's a projector Santa upstairs that you can see walk into the room, sit down and eat some milk and cookies and it's very bright and vibrant, you can tell they put a lot of effort into it."

For all of that holiday spirit Lapointe says they are awarded with "$500 in Lacombe bucks, that's the carryover from the Lacombe Chamber's Passport to Christmas, so the same participating merchants will see that money flow back into their establishments and then we also provided them with the moose mug and punch bowl from Christmas Vacation."

There were 2 entries on the commercial side of the contest, with Reflections Day Spa picking up 1st place.
