With a goal to better support and attract new businesses to Lacombe, a new economic development microsite launched today, known as the Lacombe Business Toolkit.

Echo Lacombe Association took the lead on the new one stop site for new businesses and existing businesses looking to research the opportunities in Lacombe, and they've partnered with the City, Lacombe Chamber and Burman University.

City of Lacombe Community Economic Development Manager Guy Lapointe says the timing of this new information hub couldn't be better.

“With the west area development and of course we still have Lacombe Market Square on the east side of town, and the revitalization that is taking place downtown. So again, there is lots of interest in Lacombe , and this just makes it a little bit easier, makes us a little more business friendly in terms of how we are able to answer those questions and provide the information the businesses need.”

Lapointe says the Echo Lacombe Association heard a real need for more help and support for those looking to start up a business in Lacombe.

“One of the pieces that we hear often times in my department and people on the board have heard that it’s difficult for people to get all the information they need before they start a business. They want to do some research, they want to know what Lacombe has to offer, and then they are looking for things like properties, anything they want on Lacombe they typically had to bounce between three, four, five sites, maybe call people.”

Echo Lacombe worked with a group called LocalIntel who has developed these microsites in communities like the City of Airdrie, the City of Calgary, and most recently Red Deer County.

You'll find information on everything from potential properties, demographics, who your competitors would be, and who your customer is, on the new microsite.
