Following a recent strategic planning session, Sylvan Lake Council has introduced their draft plan.

Mayor Sean McIntyre explains a few top priorities of Council.

“Downtown revitalization which is a topic near and dear to all of our hearts, as well as diversifying our recreation and culture opportunities so that includes planning for the future of our new recreation opportunity named Pogadl Park in the southwest of our community so that’s something that we’re very excited about as well as purchasing a mobile stage and working with local art and culture groups to make sure that there are lots of diverse opportunities for our residents to enjoy”.

Their main focus is on core infrastructure.

“Updating our master plans, working on asset management, water reservoir, regional wastewater pipeline in cooperation with the commission, things to that end”.

The "Reimagine Sylvan" initiative is new to the strategic plan as the Town is currently engaging the public on a new vision for downtown as part of revitalization plans.
