As part of TeamBUILD, a business would make a $1500 donation and spend the day as a team working at a build site with a number of perks to help create both a lasting memory for employees and a big impact on the community.

Habitat Volunteer and Communications Coordinator Shannon Humphrey explains.

“That $1500 goes towards the purchase of build materials to off-set the cost of getting the t-shirts, the lunch, and everything like that and to just generally support our build.  It’s kind of a good way to get out of the office and we like to say when you’re on the build site the titles come off when the tool belts go on so you’re all sort of on the same playing field and it’s a good way to do some corporate team building”.

Habitat in return supports your team with t-shirts and lunch, signage and lots of cross promotion online and through social media channels.

Humphrey says it’s also a great way to get some recognition for doing good in the community.

“You can bring out your Board members, you can bring out some of your partners within the community to say, ‘hey, look what we’re doing to give back’ and it’s a great way to engage their donors as well”.

Habitat for Humanity Red Deer is currently working on 2 duplexes in the city's Aspen Ridge neighbourhood in the southeast.
