Minister of Indigenous Relations, Rick Wilson began the COVID-19 update by announcing Bearspaw First Nation had experienced a recent outbreak of 14 cases. Nearby in Morley, another case has been identified. 

Minister of Community and Social Services, Rajan Sawhney confirmed three cases of COVID-19 identified in the Calgary Drop-In Centre. A fourth case was determined in the Calgary Salvation Army. 

“We are working tirelessly to address the situation and protect the people who have tested positive with COVID-19, those they have been in contact with and the staff and the people at the shelters,” added Sawhney. 

Sawhney noted that supporting those who are homeless during the pandemic has been one of Alberta’s top priorities. Those who are infected in the shelters will be moved to the isolation centre in Calgary.
