As many of us pack our vehicles full of camping gear, you may be wondering if you’ll have to lug some firewood along or find some when you get to your destination.

In Central Alberta, municipalities Lacombe, Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Blackfalds, Ponoka, and Wetaskiwin are experiencing no fire restrictions.

The County of Lacombe remains under fire advisory.

The following is permitted under fire advisory:

  • Residential fire pits and campfires
  • Gas or propane stoves, barbeques, and portable propane fire pits
  • Charcoal briquette Chiminea’s (with screen covers on a non-combustible surface)
  • Internal household fires
  • Wood pellet smokers Incinerators for farm and acreage use
  • Steel metal burning barrels no larger than 45 gallons with screen covers

Extra care should be used to ensure fire is totally extinguished.

The County of Red Deer has lifted its first restrictions as of Tuesday, May 20th.
