Around 6pm Tuesday night a fire broke out on the east side of Popow's Auto Wrecking and Towing yard.

Fire crews were quickly dispatched to the area and managed to get the blaze under control and out in a short time.

Lacombe Fire Captain Eric Nicholas explains the situation firefighters were facing when they arrived.

"It seems to appear that we had two motorhome units inside of the compound that were ablaze when we arrived, and the engine crew first arriving was able to knock down the fire pretty rapidly... and contain it to just the two units".

The cause of the fire is not known at this time, but under investigation.

There were no injuries reported.
