A fire restriction is currently in place for the county of Lacombe. As a result all current burn permits have been cancelled.

Under this restriction, the following is still permitted:

  • Safe wood campfires
  • Backyard fire pits
  • Portable propane fire pits
  • Gas or propane stoves and barbeques
  • Catalytic or infrared style heaters

Safe wood campfires should be within metal, brick or a rock fire ring. They should also be on rock, gravel, sand, or another non-combustible surface.

It is recommended you always have a responsible person in attendance of the fire and have enough water on hand to extinguish the fire before leaving. It never recommended to leave a lit campfire unattended.

In Ponoka County, Ponoka, Rimbey, Clearwater County a fire advisory is in effect. Burn permits are still in effect but no fire permits or firework permits are being issued at this time.

There is no fire restriction in the City of Red Deer or Red Deer County at this time.
