Both business and consumer participation in the Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce Passport to Christmas Program continues to grow.

Today at 5 pm is the deadline to turn in your full or partially stamped passport for a chance at Lacombe shopping bucks to spend in the community.

Helen Peck with the Chamber says they've distributed more passports in the community this year, 15,000 to be exact, as they've had a big jump in the number of businesses getting on board "we had 64 participaing businesses this year, so we had a lot of participation which is really wonderful, we even had 5 businesses from Bentley this year, so we've expanded quite a bit.  There's a wide variety of businesses this year, it's services as well, massage therapy, Korsch Spinal, plus we've got the new Red's Sports Store, you know there's just a huge variety, restaurants are really involved this year as well, it's just been tremendous."

Last year through the Passport to Christmas Program 1.3 million dollars was spent in the community.

4 Lacombe Shopping Bucks Prizes are up for grabs, with the top prize $1500 dollars to spend, you can enter your passport at any of the 64 participating businesses.

Winner's will be drawn between 11am and noon on the air at Sunny 94, Friday, December 23rd.
