On Tuesday night at the Lacombe Memorial Centre, the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) held a public meeting to discuss the topic of cannabis being legalized.

Lacombe residents were encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions on the matter at different tables set up in the room.

Noah Boakye-Yiadom from Alberta Health Services helped organize the event.

He says the information gathered at the meeting will be forwarded to the provincial government, as well as the Lacombe's municipal office to help in the process of developing the by-laws

To him, the meeting was more than just collecting public opinions, it was also for the citizens of Lacombe to learn more about each other.

"Most importantly, this is helping everyone here to understand where each other's opinions sit".

The meeting began at 630 pm and ran until 9.
