From the Town of Ponoka:

Family Day in Ponoka promises to be an action-packed day full of fun for the whole family on Monday, February 17!

Come to Lions Centennial Park on Highway 2A where there will be skating all day on the ice skating trail. Other Family Day activities in the park will include:

  • Hot dogs & hot chocolate 11:30 am – 1 p.m.
  • Face painting Noon – 3 p.m.
  • Hay rides 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Bonfire Noon – 3 p.m.

The Family Day fun continues at the Ponoka Aquaplex with a free ‘Everyone Welcome’ swim from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Food Bank Donations

Admission to the Lions Centennial Park activities is a donation to the Ponoka Food Bank. Activities will be moved to the Arena if necessary due to weather.

“So far the weather for next Monday looks favourable for an outdoor event at this time of year, so we’re optimistic that all of the planned activities in the park will go ahead without any weather-related concerns,” says Ponoka Mayor Rick Bonnett.

He notes last year the hay rides and bonfire were cancelled due to frigid temperatures and the event was moved indoors at the Arena. “We think Mother Nature will be on our side this year and it should be an enjoyable event for all of the families that attend,” says Mayor Bonnett.

The Town of Ponoka thanks all of our sponsors for helping to support the upcoming Family Day activities in Ponoka. Sponsors include the Ponoka Lions Club, the Ponoka Food Bank, the Ponoka Home Church, and the Ponoka County Regional Fire Service.
