Developers of the Last Hill RV, Golf and Country Club located just north of Eckville opened their ears to the public Monday night.

The community had the chance to offer feedback on plans to re-open the golf course with the addition of a 100-unit recreational vehicle park during an open house.

Resident of Lacombe County Gary Sparrow lives a few miles outside of Eckville and said he’s in full support of the project.

“Everywhere you go and find RV sites, you’ll find people and if you got people you have golfers and campers.”

“It’s a win-win. I’m whole-heartedly in favour of it.”

Developers still need approval from Lacombe County council to rezone the property from Agricultural to Recreational to add the RV park.

Before a decision is made, council wanted to get the opinions of community members, something councillor Dana Kreil said is important.

“Lacombe County does its best to seek public input on whatever situation, so with this, we want to see if the neighbours have been consulted and are happy.”

Monday night’s feedback will be presented to council with a final decision being made in the upcoming months.

If developers get the approval from the county, construction will start in the fall.
