The wet summer and fall weather gave farmers diffculties all harvest season, but now it's also giving Central Alberta Snow Mobilers problems.

Because so many farmers had to leave their crops in the fields this winter, in hopes to finish the rest in the spring, the David Thompson Snowriders have had to close their trails for the Winter.

Snowriders President Clint Bromling says they wanted to respect the difficulties farmers had to face.

"We try to maintain a good relationship, and because there's still crop in the fields of a portion of our field so hence we have to close the whole trail not just section. Because we don't want anybody blaming us if somebody's crop gets droven over."

Bromling says they've also canceled their rallies, and as mention the entire trail has been closed.

"You've got to respect the land owner so we're closing Sylvan to Bentley, Sylvan to Eckville, then our South loop at Eckville."

Bromling says riders are dissapointed, but they'll continue to have their meetings, and rider once or twice in other places this winter.
