There will be a familiar name on the ballot at this fall's municipal election.

For the second straight election, Chris Ross will be looking for his spot on Lacombe City Council.

Born and raised just outside of Lacombe, Ross is heavily involved in the community and said if he gets a seat this time around, his main focus will be strengthening downtown.

“You’ve got to earn it. You’ve got to ask for the business. No disrespect to previous councilors, but I don’t think that was done.”

“They waited for it and then accommodated it, but part of sales in my opinion and having doing sales is you don’t earn the business unless you ask for it and try to cause that positive experience so it sells further.”

He said a lot has changed after failing to be elected in the previous election and is more willing to put in the work this time around.

“Learned a lot from running in the previous election and was unsuccessful. I may be early, but there’s a lot of hard of work and effort it takes to succeed and I’m respecting that.”

“I’m hoping for people’s comments on the Facebook (Page) that I’ve created and I’m taking the time to answer it. I may have been here for all 48 years of my life, but there are a lot of people I don’t know.”

Ross has volunteered with Lacombe Days for the past four years and is currently involved with Lacombe Recreation and Culture, the City’s Traffic Advisory Committee and the Rotary Club of Lacombe Daybreak.
