Feb 8/18 - Wood Buffalo RCMP Detachment would like to confirm that Jared Lee White (30) of Fort McMurray was arrested this morning on the outstanding warrant of arrest for second degree murder in the homicide of Ashley Chisholm (38) whose body was found in a Loutit Road residence by police on Sunday, February 4, 2018.

White was taken into police custody without incident.  Police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the death of Mr. Chisholm.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and while additional information is not available at this time, an updated media release will be provided when new details are known.

Wood Buffalo RCMP and the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) are continuing to investigate the death of a Fort McMurray man as a homicide after an autopsy yesterday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton determined that the manner of death was homicide.

The deceased man has been identified as Ashley Chisholm (38) of Fort McMurray.

A Canada wide warrant of arrest for first degree murder has been issued for Jared Lee White (30).  He is described as follows:

-        30-year-old Caucasian male

-        Height - 173 cm (5’8”)

-        Weight - 68 kg (150 lb)

-        Brown hair

-        Green eyes

-        Tear drop tattoo under left eye; “GAME OVER” across the fingers of his two hands

-        Last seen wearing a black winter coat, possibly with a fur-lined collar.

The public is advised that Jared Lee White is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached if seen.  Anyone with information about White’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Wood Buffalo RCMP Detachment immediately or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
