It’s time to buy a ticket package to support the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre’s (CACAC) One Day Challenge. Today on January 21st, the CACAC is pushing to sell 1,301 ticket packages.

“What we try to do on the day of the One Day Challenge is to sell ticket packages representing each one of those children. We've represented 1,301 children since we opened, so we're trying to sell that many packages today,” said Mark Jones, CEO of the CACAC.

The 50/50 lottery is open until January 31, but the organization is making that extra push to support local children and families affected by abuse.

“We're trying to help as many children and families affected by abuse as possible. If we can try and create an opportunity for kids to get back a part of their life that's been stolen from them through the programming that we do, or counseling that's what it's all about. It's all about giving them opportunities to have a normal childhood that's been taken from them,” explained Jones.

The 75 ticket packages are officially sold out but you can always purchase their one, ten, and 25 ticket packages. Jones said this year’s 50/50 is doing extremely well and has already surpassed the donations received in 2020.

“We already have surpassed last year’s by $30,000 worth. We're really excited with that. Last year, I think the winner got just a little over 124,000. So our total last year was 248 and we're already at 274,995 and counting,” explained Jones.
