Update from Blackfalds RCMP, March 13th, 9:47am:

Please be advised that the suspect driver as a result of the media release has turned themselves into the Blackfalds RCMP.

Charges are pending. Suspect name or any further information will not be released at this time.

Blackfalds RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance.

 
From Blackfalds RCMP:
 
On March 2, 2018 at the intersection of Womacks Road and Leung Road in Blackfalds at approximately 1915 hrs (7:15pm) a young boy was hit while crossing the street at the crosswalk, sustaining minor injuries. 
 
The offending vehicle then left the scene without providing assistance or details to the injured pedestrian. 
 
Blackfalds RCMP are asking anyone with information about the either the driver or the vehicle involved to contact them at 403-885-3300 or to report via Crimestoppers.
