Fire crews were on the scene in Bentley today after receiving a call for an out-of-control structure fire in a residential neighbourhood.

Shortly after noon, the call went out and Bentley Fire Fighters, along with EMS and Police, were able to make it to the scene and get things under control relatively quickly.

Once they arrived at the scene, they realized it was a vehicle on fire in a small garage.

"When we arrived, the fire was through the roof and we were able to knock it down fairly quickly. There does appear to be a car inside, and we don't have a cause or anything right now, but it will be investigated," said Bentley Fire Chief Ian McLaren.

The owner of the vehicle said he had been working on a project restoration car, but provided no further details.

McLaren said they want to remind residents not to try to fight fires themselves unless they are very, very small. Always get out of the situation as quickly as possible and call 911 immediately.

No one was hurt during the incident.
