Upwards of 100 people a night have been making the trip out to Gopher Hill Farms Animated Christmas Lights Display just north of Rimbey.

It's the 2nd year in a row Guy Beaulieu has poured his heart and soul into the display, all in hopes of spreading a little holiday cheer.

For Beaulieu he says he retired and needed a hobby, and it's resulted in hours of dreaming and sketching and of course the set-up "I have 5 different controllers that are WiFi linked together and all run from my laptop, I'm running just right around 30,000 lights right now, I have about 12 blow ups, and a lot of 3D deer and snowmen around the yard.  I started October 2nd setting up and I finished November 30th".

There was much fine tuning to make it all work together according to Beaulieu "each strand of lights is individually controlled and synchronized to the music so there's a lot of programming involved, I'm running 80 channels right now so that's basically 80 lines of programming and every song is coordinated and synchronized to the music, I've got 28 songs programmed".

Every night he has a fire waiting for his guests, complete with hot chocolate, marshmallows and hot dogs.

His display runs 5-10 nightly into the New Year at his farm just 5 miles north of Rimbey on Highway 20.
