On Tuesday, March 26 Stephen Mandel, leader of the Alberta Party visited the Blindman Brewery in Lacombe for a meet and greet and a tour of the facility. Mandel was joined by a few other local members of the Alberta Party.

“I think one of the great things about the province of Alberta is the entrepreneurship of small businesses. This is the perfect example of a business that’s grown exponentially and what’s really nice is that they’re staying here and that they haven’t decided to move. They’re creating jobs here and a fair number of them. So, it’s wonderful and we want to make sure that we support them.”

Mandel believes that the Alberta Party’s candidates will set them apart from the other parties in the running.

“We think it’s candidate based, Myles is an incredible candidate. We have great candidates across the province. One in every riding, 87 candidates. So, I think people need to look at the Alberta party and the platform we put forward whether its daycare, whether its education or whether its economic, or tax changes. We’re a party that tries to look at the practical side of politics and deliver programs that are going to help Albertans.”

The party leader will be touring a number of local small businesses in rural Alberta to make announcements that they believe will help the communities that they visit.

“Rural Alberta is so important. Rural Alberta is the basic strength of the economy here. A lot of people don’t know that without rural Alberta we would not be the economic powerhouse that we can be,” explained Mandel.

Rural Alberta will be a focus for the Alberta Party as they head to a variety of rural areas within the next couple of weeks. Mandel believes that he will be returning to Lacombe again sometime before the end of the election.
