A local program is letting you try out some of Lacombe's fitness spots up to three times each for free.

Communities ChooseWell, which is managed by the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association, continues to encourage healthy eating and staying active, with the City of Lacombe continuing to support the cause through challenges.

The latest called “Find the Right Fit” has local fitness facilities like Finding Balance, Burman University, the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre and Lacombe Yoga on board, giving you the opportunity to try out programs for free.

Recreation and Culture Manager's assistant Sonya Beauclair says the hope is that you find a facility you like “we know that getting active can be hard and it’s easier if it’s something that you enjoy doing so we have Find the Right Fit, to help you find what works for you”.

Beauclair says at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what changes you make big or small, it's just important to stay active “even the little things can add up, if you’re going to take the stairs instead of the elevator, or park on the far side of the parking lot and some of those little changes can add up in the long run, so it doesn’t have to be going hard for 30 minutes, some of those changes could be three, ten minute stints”.

All you need to get started is a punch card which can be found at any participating location:

CrossFit Lacombe
Spin Out Studio
Finding Balance
Pound Fitness
Kinsmen Aquatic Centre
Burman University Gym
Lacombe Yoga

A free information session is being held tonight so you can learn more about the programs participating, how Find the Right Fit works, maybe even find a work out buddy, it runs 6-8pm at the County of Lacombe Lifelong Learning Association.
