From Didsbury RCMP:

Friday night (May 4th) at approximately 6:00 p.m., Didsbury RCMP responded to calls about a truck driving northbound on Highway 22, swerving and driving erratically. While attending the scene an additional call was received indicating the truck matching the description of the previous complaints was involved in a collision with several other vehicles.

Preliminary investigation has revealed the truck was heading northbound on Highway 22 when it attempted to pass a vehicle and struck a southbound RV. A collision then occurred with a northbound RV and a southbound semi-tractor.  

Tragically the driver of the truck, a 30 year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The southbound RV with one male and female occupant suffered minor injuries and were taken by EMS to a local hospital.

The northbound RV had one female occupant who was not injured. The southbound semi-tractor with one male occupant was also not injured.

Speed and weather were not contributing factors and the investigation continues. Highway 22 traffic was re-routed for several hours.

Didsbury RCMP on scene of four vehicle collision on Highway 22

Didsbury RCMP are currently on scene of a four vehicle collision on Highway 22 north from Cochrane at Township Road 292.

The collision involves a truck, two RV’s and a semi-tractor. Traffic is currently being re-routed around the scene utilizing township roads.

A RCMP Collision analyst is on scene and traffic is expected to be re-routed for several hours.

No further details are available at this time. An update will be provided when more information is available.
