From the Stettler RCMP:

On April 1, 2020, at approximately 1:00 pm, the Stettler RCMP attended a rural residence on Highway 601, in Stettler County. The RCMP were making efforts to effect the arrest of Ernest Bedore who was wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for being Unlawfully at Large.

The RCMP located a stolen vehicle being driven on the property. The driver of the vehicle revved the engine several times before backing up and crashing into another parked vehicle on the property. The truck was then abandoned on the property.  Stettler RCMP asked for assistance from Stettler Integrated Traffic Unit, Bashaw RCMP and Red Deer City Police Dog Service.

With the combined effort of these units, the stolen truck was recovered and Ernest Bedore was arrested inside the residence. Bedore will be incarcerated at the Drumheller Penitentiary until June 24, 2020.

Arrest warrants for Serg Landry and Noelle Pedersen were also executed.  Landry was released, on scene, for court in Innisfail.

A Judicial Interim Release hearing was held for Pedersen, who had seven outstanding warrants for a total of 12 outstanding charges, dating back to 2016.  Pedersen was released for court in Stettler on June 25, 2020.

Traffic on Highway 601 was stopped and redirected onto the gravel roads as the RCMP completed this investigation. Stettler RCMP would like to thank the public for their understanding and co-operation during this disruption.
