From Rocky Mountain House RCMP:

On May 2 at 9:58 p.m., Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded to a dispatch of a serious two vehicle collision on Highway 54 near Range Road 5-0.  Clearwater County Fire and EMS also attended the collision.  Despite efforts to resuscitate him, the 28-year-old male driver of an involved car was declared deceased.

Initial investigation indicates that an SUV was travelling eastbound on Highway 54 and a car was travelling westbound.  Indications are that the car crossed the centre and collided head on with the SUV.

The 17-year-old female driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital via ground ambulance with non life threatening injuries.

The RCMP Collision Analyst attended the collision scene to conduct an investigation, which remains ongoing.  Shortly after 2:30 a.m. this morning the collision scene was cleared and RCMP were no longer on site.

All contributing factors into this collision are being investigated and there is no further information available by the RCMP.
