Anna-Marie Lea and her team at Cow Patti Theatre had another very successful act.

They've brought laughter to the community for the last 22 years and this year brought in a record-breaking amount for charities across Central Alberta.

Anna-Marie says this year they were able to present cheques totalling $27,000 to the Make a Move with Jagger Foundation, Caroline Seniors, Bentley Library society, Kasota East Camp, and Lacombe performing arts centre.

“It was just an opportunity to pass back the monies raised for them, and just to acknowledge our relationship and how grateful I am to have them to use as my voice to do better in the community,” she said

They also gave back to the Sawyer Kiist passion for Life bursary, which will be distributing out three scholarships of 1000 dollars to deserving students this year.

She says that she doesn’t aim to raise a certain amount, but rather just pushes for a successful season.

“I don’t really think about a dollar number, I just think okay we have 7 benefits, let’s get them sold out.”

The production of the "Odd Couple" closed the curtain on December 16, but they're excited to be practising up for "Halfway there" which will open up the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day.

They have pushed it a month later than usual, which Anna-Marie says is due to the Canada Winter Games.

“Halfway there,” is a story of friendship that is based out of a small town in Nova Scotia, where two friends meet at a café to catch up and meet a stranger who shakes up their world.

Anna-Marie says she is excited to be continuing this season at the Lacombe Golf and Country working with the new General Manager, Kerry Ward.

This seasons production of “Halfway there” will continue until April 7.
